CWSC also recognizes that the traditional playing style of youth
soccer teams in this country is form a team, have some practices
during the week, and play a game on the weekend. This does not
work out for some families and some players so we have an
alternative playing choice that is something to be considered.
A player can register within the soccer club and request not to be
placed on a specific team.
This is called the unrostered option and it allows
that player to attend any practices on any team and also to attend
training sessions and other special playing opportunities, but they
do not play games on Saturdays. Most of the teaching in soccer
and opportunities to try out new skills take place at practices.
Additionally 30 minutes of scrimmage takes place at every practice
which the players really enjoy and all kids play the 30 minutes.
Plus as a parent you get weekends free! The fee is simply $20
less than the registration fee if a jersey is not ordered. I
believe this is an underutilized option because practices are held
every evening of the week during the season and there is always an
organized playing option if a weeknight is free and a player wants
to play.
